What’s More Important – Building at West Point or Building Border Wall?

When President Donald Trump was unable to get funding from Congress with which to build a border wall and improve border security, he did what most presidents before him have done – he declared an emergency which allows him to use money from other departments to build the border wall. In Trump’s case, he called for the diversion of funds from the Department of Defense.

To no great surprise, Democrats instantly filed a lawsuit to stop Trump from using emergency funding to build the wall. They conveniently forgot that Barack Obama used the same tactic at least 12 times to fund his pet projects that Congress refused to fund.

Following the law, a federal court ruled that Trump’s use of Defense Department funds for the emergency purpose of building a border wall legal, allowing him to move forward.

Naturally, Democrats are still outraged and are trying to use this as negative campaign propaganda to hurt Trump’s chances of re-election next year.

Leading the list of Democratic critics of Trump is Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who recently tweeted:

“Today Defense Secretary Mark Esper notified me that the Department of Defense will reprogram $3.6 billion in funds appropriated for military construction projects, including at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, in order to build @realDonaldTrump ‘s misguided border wall.”

“It is a slap in the face to the members of the Armed Forces who serve our country that @realDonaldTrump is willing to cannibalize already allocated military funding to boost his own ego, and for a wall he promised Mexico would pay to build.”

You have to realize that Schumer hates Trump not just because of the difference in political ideology, but he also hates Trump because Trump has repeatedly talked about emptying the Swamp – aka – career politicians in Washington DC. I say that because Schumer is a true swamp creature. He won his first political election in 1974 when he won a seat in the New York State Assembly. That means that Schumer has been in politics for the past 44 years. This also means that he hasn’t held a real job in the past 44 years, which clearly puts him out of touch with most of America.

Back to Schumer’s tweet. Did you notice that he puts more importance on building going on at West Point than he does on protecting you and I from the flood of illegal aliens?

If it’s a case of money, you also have to realize that Schumer supports the flooding of illegal aliens that currently cost US taxpayers OVER $165 BILLION a YEAR. Then he turns around and votes against a ONE TIME expenditure of $15 billion to $25 billion that would go far in reducing the yearly expense incurred by illegal aliens.

From Schumer’s own words, the buildings at West Point are more important than your safety, life and yearly outlay of billions of taxpayer dollars.

You also have to realize that Schumer isn’t alone as this appears to be one of the policies held by the Democratic Party. I trust you to remember that when you go to the polls next year.
