A paranormal investigator says that most of us are likely living with some otherworldly roommates, claiming that β90% of all homes are haunted.β
Well-known paranormal investigator Rob Pyke says that “ghosts” or “spirits” or the “souls of the dear departed,” however you refer to them, are a lot more common than you think; in fact, he says you have probably been living with a couple of them all of your life.
Speaking to the British press recently, Pyke said, “A good 90 or more percent of us have a spirit in our houses. Whether they’re just looking out for us, whether they want to make themselves known to us or not, it’s up to them.”
Pyke says that while the prospect of sharing your digs with one or more ghostly roommates might sound freighting, for the most part, it’s nothing to worry about.
“We had an old miner called Arthur living in our old house,” he shared.
“We used to have the smell of tobacco waft past us, and that’s how you’d know he was there; it was absolutely fine.
He went on, “We lived in the house. He lived in the house; he might still live there now.”
Pyke also says that these wayward spirits are almost always quite harmless and reassures that ghosts are usually pretty respectful house guests – and they won’t even make your bills go up.
“To quote [historian] Richard Felix, if ghosts had a job, it wouldn’t be to scare people,” Pyke continued.
“They’re just continuing to crack on live their life, you know, they’re not down there to jump out of a corner and say ‘boo’ or anything like that.β
“There’s nothing to be afraid of ghosts whatsoever. The only problem is, that you don’t know who they are. You wouldn’t invite a stranger in,” but he adds, “to them, it is you who may be the stranger in their house, as they may have lived in that house both living and dead much longer than you have.”
So what should you do if you suspect you’re living with a ghost? Pyke has some words of wisdom – but it might not be what you’d expect.
“Would I say communicate, find out who it is? Now, because you are then encouraging and acknowledging their presence. They’re not there to scare you. Just completely ignore them.”
Yes ,I agree .I have spirits in my home .I can see orbs when I get camera out and put on video, you can see them you don’t have to record .they are very respectful.they don’t scare you but sometimes I can hear voices .but it’s ok ,I know there here.and they know I know .I’ve had some things happen that I was warned about before hand .like the simi that came up our hill and almost hit my house .the word hill keep entering my mind an less than week later a simi was sitting at my front door .they are here and mine are protectors they are family.
I totally agree we have ghost in our house and we have herd them run up and down the steps tons of times. They take things and return them later, I have also took pictures and orbes showed up in the photo. This is a good one,we bought a second car at a new and used car dealership. When you put on the radio it would change till it found the station it wanted. Also when someone new got in the car the car wold stall. We later found out the car was totaled in New York and the title was washed and the dealer sold in P.A. As a good used car. We think someone was killed in the reck and the ghost was still controlling the car.
I have had two dogs that will stare in corners and sit like someone is telling them to. Now I have a new dog and she sits in my lap and looks at the space behind me, even if sheβs on the floor. She flinches sometimes like someone pinched her.
If ghosts are in my house, I just wished they would do the dishes and clean the house.ππ€£π€£π€£
Yes my animals do the same thing ,they stare into space an you can see there eyes following something .and yes wish they do my dishes to or run sweeper a time or two .but ya know I would rather live with my Spirits then some people .
I have lived in three haunted houses, (to the best of my knowledge.) The last was a home built in 1912. Our bed would roughly shake side to side sometimes. The covers would suddenly be pulled off the foot of the bed. When I would ask it to stop, it would. While in the creepy basement, I once found one of my grandmother’s old, embroidered and beautiful dresses but could not find the belt that matched. I stated this out-loud and the next day, the belt was hanging on the dress. One night, my husband was upstairs in bed. I was downstairs on the first floor. He called to me and asked where I was. He then told me that ‘someone’ had grabbed him by the thigh and squeezed. Ghosts are very real and love to have fun and play jokes. Very often a little bell would tinkle in the upstairs hallway leading between bedrooms.
