Security Camera Footage of ‘Odd Creature’ Goes Viral

The introduction of low-cost security cameras has been a great recent breakthrough in home security.  Now more and more people can have access to what used to be very expensive technology to help keep their homes and families safe.

Home security cameras can prevent crimes from happening and quickly provide material evidence to authorities in cases of vandalism and burglary.

But sometimes, the footage security cameras capture leave homeowners with more questions than answers.

As reported in the USA Today, and many other legitimate press outlets, a home security camera recently captured an image of a very bizarre creature, and the footage quickly went viral.

The video was posted on Facebook by Vivian Gomez, with the appropriate caption:  “what the heck,” as it is indeed very hard to imagine just what she caught wandering around her neighborhood.

The clip shows a short, scrawny figure with wobbly legs and floppy ears joyously prancing down a driveway.

“So I woke up Sunday morning and saw this on my camera and am trying to figure out…what the heck??” Gomez captions the black and white security footage. “First I saw the shadow walking from my front door then I saw this thing….has anyone else?”

So What Could This Strange Creature Be?

The video has gotten over 9 million views since it was first posted on July 3. Naturally, social media has since run rampant with theories about the origins of the mysterious creature.

Some think the creature is definitely an alien. Other’s think it bears a strong resemblance to the elf-like creature “Dobby” from the Harry Potter Movies.

Has Dobby been captured on film?

Some people suspect that the video may be doctored, while others say that someone could have created an elf-like puppet. But Gomez insists it’s real. “If anyone tested it or whatever they do, it would confirm it’s not altered,” she wrote in a comment.
