Mother of Dress-Wearing Convicted Sex Offender Claims He Is “Not a Woman”

The mother of the 15-year-old Virginia boy found guilty of sexually assaulting a female classmate said her son doesn’t identify as a female — after the assault sparked fierce debate about transgender bathrooms and led to the victim’s dad being branded a domestic terrorist.

“He’s a 15-year-old boy that wanted to have sex in the bathroom with somebody that was willing,” the mother, who asked not to be identified to protect her underage son, told the Daily Mail.

“And they’re twisting this just enough to make it a political hot-button issue,” she added.

The assault, which occurred in a female bathroom at Stone Bridge High School in May, ignited a political firestorm after the victim’s father was arrested during a volatile Loudoun County school board meeting earlier this year.

Scott Smith claimed his daughter was attacked in the girls’ bathroom by “a boy wearing a skirt,” sparking a backlash against a policy in Loudoun County schools that allows transgender students to use bathrooms that “match their gender identity.”

However, that policy was adopted months after the May assault, according to the Washington Post.

Smith’s arrest was cited by the National School Boards Association in a letter to the White House as an example of the “immediate threat” that is “equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

The boy’s mother told the Daily Mail that despite his androgynous lifestyle and declaration that he’s “pansexual,” her son was just “trying to find himself” — and that “involved all kinds of styles.”

“I believe he was doing it because it gave him the attention he desperately needed and sought,” she said.

She insisted her son didn’t wear a skirt as a disguise to slip into the girls’ bathroom, saying he would “wear a skirt one day and then the next day he would wear jeans and a T-shirt, a Polo or hoodie.”

But the mom acknowledged that her boy is deeply troubled, citing his history of misbehavior that included sending nude photos of himself to a girl in fifth grade.

Last week, Loudoun County juvenile court Chief Judge Pamela Brooks found sufficient evidence to sustain charges on the teen of forcible sodomy and forcible fellatio on his 15-year-old classmate.

The ruling was the juvenile court equivalent of a conviction for the boy, who was not identified because of his age.

Following the May attack, the teen had been transferred to another Loudoun school, where he was accused of another sexual assault on a different 15-year-old girl.

He is due back in court on charges for that alleged sex attack and will reportedly be sentenced for the May attack after that.

The boy’s mom told the Daily Mail that she reached her breaking point when her son called her from the juvenile detention center after his second arrest in October.

“He asked me how I was doing, and I said, ‘I’m broken, I’m shattered, you shattered me,’” she said.

”’Do you have any idea what you’ve done to me, what you’ve done to your family?’ And his response was, ‘No, what did I do?’” she said.

“At that point, I was like, ‘You know what? I love you. I always will, I will do everything I can to always be there for you in any capacity possible.’ But I told him, ‘You need to call your father from now on. Do not call me. I need to heal, and I need you to figure this out for yourself.'”
