Flu season is upon us and for many people, this can mean days of feeling low, drowsy, fatigued, weak, and in general less than healthy. If you or someone you know gets sick with the flu, these are the best tips to help ease your recovery.

1. Stay Home

Staying home allows your body to rest and actually recover much faster from the flu virus. Being home will also allow you to sleep as much as you want. Sleep can be a key to fast recovery as it allows your body to enter a fully restorative mode.

2. Hydrate

Many people when feeling sick will get dehydrated. This is often because they might be feeling nauseous or vomiting frequently. As a result, they might opt for drinking water, but that can be a big mistake. When sick you should drink as many liquids as possible for your body to be able to fight off an infection.

3. Humidifier

Dry air can actually make your symptoms worse, which is why if you have the option you should try to add moisture to the air through a vaporizer or humidifier. If you are congested this also helps your nest open back up so that you can breathe.

4. Honey

Honey has incredible anti-inflammatory properties, which is why it can be the perfect ingredient for curing your sore throat or cough. You can mix it in hot tea, or even milk in order to enjoy your spoonful of honey more. It can also be added to toast if you want to eat something and not only be drinking things constantly.
