Democrats against Trump’s new Visa Screenings

This month kicks off the official start of a new policy ordered by President Donald Trump that will require heightened vetting for visa applicants and it has the blue Democrats turning red with anger. The change now requires that those applying for visas in the United States provide their social media user names, emails, and all other online account usernames and activities. Although the executive order was first announced last year, it will take effect this month and is estimated to affect over 15 million immigrants, according to the Federal Register.

Anyone who truly cares about the safety of the U.S. would understand the reason behind this new policy and how it will serve to protect potential threats to the American people. Trump officials stated that “social media can be a major forum for terrorist sentiment and activity” and that the new policy will assist in “screening out terrorists, public safety threats, and other dangerous individuals from gaining immigration benefits and setting foot on U.S. soil.” You don’t have to be a patriot to see the benefit of this policy and how it is meant to serve the best interest of the American people. The problem is that the new vetting practice is gaining many Democrat a far-left critics who feel that this process could be used by the Trump administration to expedite deportation proceedings. “They can falsely attribute some social media activity to you and claim you lied about it,” said Dan Feidt, a reporter with Unicorn Riot and a privacy advocate. It is further believed by critics that the government could find inconsistencies to then use as the justification for deportation.

The policy to check the social media of visa applicants has Democrats worrying because they know that they may lose a large segment of their support base. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, the “enormous flow of immigrants into the country—29.5 million from 1980 to 2012—has remade ad continues to remake the nation’s electorate in favor of the Democratic Party.” Basically, increasing immigration will result in more Democrats winning more elections. This creates a conflict of interest for Democrats that seemingly puts the American people last in place.

If an immigrant hopes to acquire a visa in the United States, one would think that they would feel honored and willing to do anything required to gain that status…including provide any information necessary to make a decision on their application. If they are not citizens of the United States, then why would anyone expect for them to receive the same privacy rights as a natural born American? Why are the Democrats so blatantly showing their favor toward immigrants for the sake of acquiring additional voters, rather than doing anything necessary to ensure further protection of the citizens who are in the country rightfully?  These are the questions that no one seems to ask when confronted with liberal news media that continues to push the agenda of the Democrats.

President Trump continues to establish policies that are intended to protect the economy of the United States, as well as the safety of the people who live here. It is unbearable to know that there are leaders that would find this process to be unjustified, especially after the attacks that have made their way onto American soil for foreign outsiders.
