A former film and television production designer turned hoarder has been found mummified under a massive pile of garbage in her Queens home, according to police.
The sister of 66-year-old Evelyn Sakash told police she had not heard from her since October 2020. She also described her sister a “heavy hoarder.”
The sister had recently visited New York to find Sakash. She hired a cleaning crew to clear out Sakash’s house on 123rd Street in College Point to see if she was inside, police said.
The cleaning crew discovered Sakash’s mummified body around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday under debris in the kitchen.
No foul play is suspected in her death.
Sakash has production credits on IMDb for dozens of projects from the 1980s to the mid-2010s.
Some of her most well-known work includes “Sesame Street,” “Law and Order” and “Orange Is the New Black.”
“We miss you Evelyn, my dear talented, soulful friend,” one contributor posted on a GoFundMe page to raise money for her funeral.
