As the weather is getting colder, flu season is fast approaching. If you find yourself with a high fever, nausea, or generally feeling under the weather then one of the best things you can do is to try some natural home remedies that can help you feel better and heal faster.

1. Hydration

Whenever you are feeling under the weather it is important to drink a lot of water. Hydration is particularly important for treating a number of flu symptoms such as fever and diarrhea. If you are dehydrated you will usually find that you are suffering from a loss of strength, and you might not have an appetite to eat. The combination of these things could lead to your recovery being slower than you might have hoped.

2. Drink pineapple juice

Pineapple juice contains Bromelain, an important enzyme that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory powers. As such, this enzyme can help you fight off inflammations that might be causing your sinus to be inflamed or your overall body to be in pain.

3. Don’t choose foods that lead to acid reflux

If you are already feeling nauseous or unwell the worst thing you can do is follow a diet that gives you acid reflux. When you get the flu foods that are fried, or fatty can trigger you to want to vomit. Other such foods include full-fat dairy and highly acidic foods, like orange juice. These should be avoided at all costs.
