Another Attempted Terrorist Attack on America

While wacky progressives in congress demand the dismantling of ICE, another potential terrorist plot has been foiled, with the arrest of a Hezbollah secret agent living in America for decades, biding his time taking photographs and gathering strategic information on targets within the United States, including the White House and the Statue of Liberty, for a future terrorist attack.

The sinister plot apparently years in the making involves a 42-year old Muslim born “naturalized citizen” named Ali Hassan Saab, also known as Alexei Saab living quietly in Morristown, New Jersey and part of an international terrorist “sleeper cell” until his arrest in July.

Saab has been charged with 9-counts related to his activities as a terrorist spy for Hizballah and also for a sham marriage to gain access into the United States.

According to the 9-count indictment, “while living in the United States, Saab served as an operative of Hizballah and conducted surveillance of possible target locations in order to help the foreign terrorist organization prepare for potential future attacks against the United States,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers.  “Such covert activities conducted on U.S. soil are a clear threat to our national security and I applaud the agents, analysts, and prosecutors who are responsible for this investigation and prosecution.”

Adding, “As a member of the Hizballah component that coordinates external terrorist attack planning, Alexei Saab allegedly used his training to scout possible targets throughout the U.S,” said U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman.  “Even though Saab was a naturalized American citizen, his true allegiance was to Hizballah, the terrorist organization responsible for decades of terrorist attacks that have killed hundreds, including U.S. citizens and military personnel.  Thankfully, Saab is now in federal custody, and faces significant prison time for his alleged crimes.”

Saab background reads like a spy novel, first joining Hizballah in 1996, where he was tasked with his first assignment in Lebanon to observe and report on the movements of Israeli and Southern Lebanese Army soldiers in Yaroun, Lebanon.

Approximately 3-years later, Saab attended his first Hizballah terrorist training camp. There he was trained in the use of firearms, handling everything from an AK-47 to M16 rifle, using the same rigid training methods required by the U.S. military.

In 2000 the terrorist-in-training officially became a member of Hizballah’s external operations, which encompassed training in IJO tradecraft, weapons, and military tactics, including how to construct bombs and other explosive devices.

In 2004 and 2005, Saab attended explosives training in Lebanon during which he received detailed instruction in, among other things, triggering mechanisms, explosive substances, detonators, and the assembly of circuits.

His training complete Saab in 2005 applied for naturalized citizenship in the U.S., with his primary goal to scout out American landmarks, and in particular security and structural weaknesses where a terrorist attack could produce mass causalities.

The information would then be transmitted back to Hezbollah in the Middle East.

Also according to a criminal complaint filed in Manhattan federal court, the Muslim spy also had Prudential Center in Boston and the Capitol Building, Congress along with the White House in his crosshairs. A video taken by Saab of Fenway Park was also included in the federal complaint.

Saab also attempted to murder a man he believed was an Israeli agent, by pointing his firearm at point-blank-range and pulling the trigger the gun did not fire, he again pulled the trigger and again the gun didn’t fire.

Saab is also being investigated for conducting intelligence-gathering surveillance for Hezbollah in Istanbul, Turkey.

The terrorist organization has thus far never carried out a terrorist attack on American soil; they were responsible, however, for the terrorist bombing attack in 1983, killing 241 United States Marines as they slept in their Beirut barracks.
